WASHME TV (Work And Save Human Minority Entrepreneurs Tomorrow's Vision) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of low-income individuals and minority entrepreneurs through access to quality mentoring, business education, financial literacy instruction, and food truck entrepreneurship training. Serving the Wiregrass–Black Belt Economic Corridor of Southeast Alabama, we bridge the gap between economic hardship and lasting opportunity.
Adults in Enterprise, Coffee County, and surrounding communities who are ready to build a business, improve their finances, or launch a food truck enterprise through WASHME TV.
A six-phase blueprint for building entrepreneurship and financial literacy from the ground up — open to every low-income resident of our community.
It answers business startup questions — food truck licensing, LLC formation, USDA grants, credit building, and more — using a built-in offline knowledge engine (with an optional live OpenAI upgrade), styled in the organization’s black, gold, and white branding.
Hands-on culinary business training, licensing guidance, marketing, and financial management for aspiring mobile food entrepreneurs — including preparation for the Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) credential Alabama requires of retail food operations.
Expert-led instruction in entrepreneurship, operations, marketing, and minority business best practices for participants building or launching businesses.
Budgeting, saving, credit building toward 750+, and long-term economic self-sufficiency for low-income adults.
Media-driven teaching that extends entrepreneurship and financial education to underserved residents who cannot attend in person.
Empowering participants to launch and sustain income-generating businesses with real-world tools and confidence.
Structured support from legal formation through branding, business planning, and successful market launch.
Hands-on training in building real websites and simple apps for local small businesses. Participants learn design, coding basics, client communication, pricing, and launch, then deliver live projects on Netlify under mentor supervision. Graduates leave with a portfolio, real client experience, and a marketable skill they can turn into a freelance business or a job.
The Charitable Lawn Mowing Programs give free lawn care to elderly, disabled, and veteran households in Coffee County. At the same time, they train minority entrepreneurs-in-training in the skills needed to run a lawn-care business. Four connected tracks move each trainee from charitable service to independent, paid client accounts. Every job is documented, so the results can support WASHME TV's grant compliance reporting.
Trainees mow free for households with someone age 62+, a documented disability, or an active-duty or deployed military member. Enterprise-area churches, senior centers, and civic groups refer these households.
Each trainee completes 25 charitable yards to build route management, equipment handling, and client communication skills. They then graduate to independent, paid accounts. For example, a trainee with 15 of 25 yards done (60%) needs 10 more to graduate.
Lead instructors supervise group mowing events for single parents and low-income households, using MPL equipment. These events also serve as the community service lawn days in WASHME TV training materials.
Trainees log every charitable job with before/after photos, hours worked, and client feedback on a simple tracking sheet. This record supplies the participation and outcome data for grant reporting.
